Gorgeous views of the lake , nice and clean state park , lots of deer roaming around , old fashioned pay phones, nice place
A beautiful and relaxing place to visit. Great for picnics with the family. The restaurant in the main lodge has been in an ownership flux the last couple of years, but the view from there is spectacular.
Stayed in per friendly cabin #4 in the fall of '15. Best location of the pet friendly cabins high on ridge near lake. Very nice mid-century modern cabin with w/b fireplace, identical to cabins found at Bluestone SP. WV. Decent space between cabins. Lake had been lowered and all boating and lake activities ended by this time. Park was quite, and beautiful time & place to see the leaves change. Higher in price, even in off season, than most other WV State Parks with few amenities in off season. But like all West Virginia SP you get plenty of firewood. See photos
Booked a camping and swimming trip there for Monday through Wednesday. Come to find out you can't swim at the beach those days.....what a joke this place is!! Not worth the money they ask for. You can find a better way to spend your money......sure don't waist it on this place.
Kids had a blast playing in the snow and got some great pictures of the dam and surrounding areas. Christina was amazing with my kids showing then the snakes and turtles and letting them pet them.
Great small town lake tucked away in the mountains. One of the warmer and clearer lake's in the area.
