  • This museum has 5 museums they are Buffalo Bill Museum, the Plains Indians Museum, the Whitney Western Art Museum, the Draper Natural History Museum, and the Cody Firearms Museum. These museums are about the history of cowboys and Indians. It has a lot of old guns,Indian antiques, cowboy artifacts and any other wild wild west artifacts. This place is all about Buffalo Bills life. Buffalo bill was ready to explore the Wild Wild West so he came to Colorado. On June 3, 1917,he was buried on Lookout Mountain, in Golden, Colorado on the edge of the Rocky Mountains, and the the Great Plains. This museum is the oldest one in the West. His first name is Cody. He received the nickname "Buffalo Bill" after the American Civil War, since he had to work for the Kansas Pacific Railroad workers supplying them with buffalo meat. He killed over 4,282 buffalo in 18 months. Cody became world famous for Buffalo Bill's Wild West, which is a show that which traveled around the United States, Great Britain and Europe.
  • The area is beautiful. I love the gift shop here. They have lots of beautiful things with very good price.
  • Great scenery!!! Kids enjoyed the gift shop. Fudge is ok at shop is ok, little dry for me. Receptionist at museum very friendly and informative. Kids enjoyed the "dress up" area. Closes early is downside.
  • Gorgeous area I could see why he may have wanted to be laid to rest here. Entertaining for children also
  • I moved from Souther utah to KC Missouri, on my journey, I stopped to see my ancestry of Buffalo Bill. He is my distant relative on my mom's side. It was amazing and beautifully breathtaking to see the what my uncle down the line did back in the day. I will be stopping again when I go to visit back home.
