I was blown away !!!! This place is amazing! One of the best museums I've ever been to.... well worth the trip.
This collection of amazing and truly jaw dropping items is a 100% must see in the area. Set aside 2 to 3 hours of your day to meander through the 5 awe inspiring rooms that are filled with rare glass ware, native american artifacts, and some really rare collections donated to the owners. It free and worth every second to get there, and spent there. Do not forget to look at the the world's largest collection of butter dishes taking up a 90 foot wall and the world's largest single quarts crystal which weighs in as 1,250 lbs.
We are very impressed with the size and quality of this museum. There is a wide variety of antiques and collectibles. Something for everyone's taste. Be sure a stop if you are ever in the area....make a point to visit the area.
The owner of this museum, Winfred Prier, is a lifelong resident of this area and, because of this, is very knowledgeable about the history and culture of SW Missouri. He's also an avid collector and will travel far and wide to secure complete collections of artifacts. Full disclosure - the museum also carries my wife's historic novel about the area, "Jakie Creek - Legacy of an Ozark Outlaw." But that's not why we love the museum. We love it because the museum reflects the true local flavor of that part of the Ozarks. It's what regional museums around the U.S. should be.
We just visited this museum and we were very surprised and happy that we took the time to go through it. They have a wide variety of items and what struck us the most was how much complete collection of a item they had. It is very pleasantly put together and the variety from all over the world was great. We recommend you take the time and visit this museum.
