  • Hammond was a fascinating person and his story was fun to hear while we were guided through the amazing collection of artifacts he brought to his home. Eric's knowledge of Hammond and his collection, and the charisma and personality he had sharing this knowledge, made this possibly my favorite stop that my family and I made on our trip up here. I'm surprised that I haven't heard more about Hammond before now. I've always loved history and between Hammond's contributions to even modern technology and his collection of artifacts, this was an excellent place to visit
  • Spectacular castle with eclectic art and incredible views right on the coastine of Gloucester. The guided tour gives a lot of information, just wish we would have been guided through more of the rooms. All of us were amazed at how many inventions John Hammond made and the impact his work has made in so many areas of our lives today. Just incredible!! Once the tour is complete you are allowed to continue through the castle on your own. Interesting and educational for all ages.
  • We visited this museum on a Saturday morning. It was well worth the visit. The castle is in really good condition and doesn’t take too long to go through. I didn’t know much about the man but was really impressed by what he’d done. Over the course of his life he held hundreds of patents. He was also a collector of various art styles. The views are really good as it sits above the ocean. Tickets are available inside or can be bought on your phone. You can self guide or take a guided tour. There’s plenty of parking available. It’s well worth a visit.
  • This place was unique. I was surprised to walk through the home without air conditioning! Lots of antique furniture, beautiful pool area and the grounds with the ocean view was awesome. It is a place to see! Make sure you give yourself plenty of time to see everything.
  • This place is amazing! The architecture is the building is a sight to behold and the contents of the building are equally amazing! Mr. Hammond's inventions are extremely interesting and his fascination with Columbus and the artifacts to go with it are astounding! I highly recommend stopping to see this one of a kind spot!
