4.6/5 based on 500+ reviews on the web
Check out sandy Good Harbor Beach, known as one of the cleanest beaches in the area. Bordered by greenery, the beach also features a small island that's reachable by foot when the tide is low and a picturesque peninsula with charming villas overlooking the sea. Head out for a swim in the clear ocean waters, lie in the sun with a drink by your side, or rent a boogie board on site and hit the waves. With a very gentle seafloor drop, the site is suitable for families with children and for nonswimmers. The beach has a snack bar and restrooms. • Since I was there in September the beach was not crowded so all the more for me! There were paddling surfboarders coming in on the waves which were interesting to watch as I had never seen them before...  read more »
  • Stop at the beach abut 6PM and could park free since we are not from Gloucester. Went for a stroll along the entire water front. Great exercise... now we can eat more
  • Nobody there in the mornings gigantic Beach at low tide. Dog friendly after the first of October beautiful scenery I say nice sand
  • My favorite New England by far. If you're a Gloucester resident, it's free with the pass issued by the city, but if you live out of town (like me) it's $25 to park each visit. I think it's worth a visit at least 2-3 times a month in the summer though, regardless of price. It's so clean and beautiful. The waves are fun and there's also a nice little snack shack at the beginning of the boardwalk.
  • I loved the waves there! Water was nice and clean. I'm from the Caribbean, so I found the water a bit cold. But, once you're in; it's all good! What awesome creation of God! My fiancĂ©e Sony St. Hubert and I had a great time there. :) The only thing that was missing wad some restaurants.
  • I believe that GHB is the best beach in MA, certainly on the North Shore. With it's breath taking views, fun waves and the legendary creek (a natural "lazy river"), its a great take. That said a couple of important notes: Sometimes (not every year) Green Heads appear, especially near the Dunes. Bring bug spray in late July early August. If the beach is deserted (maybe on a grey day) the Seagulls get desperate. I saw someone's slice of pizza literally taken out of their mouth! There are no trash recepticles (except near the large snack bar), bring your trash home!
  • Beach is great for everyone! White, soft, clean sand. The water is clean and have and some strong awesome waves... Bring boogie boards and have fun in the surf. The side by the bridge is where the bigger waves are or If you're interested in surfing this is the spot to test it out. There's a snack bar and they have pizza burgers drinks etc. There are locker room, and there are showers to rinse off. It's trash in, trash out, so be prepared for that. Parking is $20/car on popular days--the lot fills up and there are lifeguards.
  • i love this beach it has great scenery like the big houses and the pretty ocean and to the right all the way down the beach the tidal pool and bridge area.I love it but be careful it can be strong currents in the summer. It is also a great place for dogs in the off season because its so big it is awesome and you meet lots of other dogs to .
