The Cerreta Candy Company, Glendale
(4/5 based on 70+ reviews on the web)
Cerreta's was founded 40 years ago, by Jim Cerreta, Sr. who learned candy making in his father-in-law’s factory in Ohio. Jim passed the trade to his entire family.

Today three of Jim’s sons are actively involved in every aspect of the candy business.

Joe oversees production of the cream centers, where he combines modern methods with old fashion candy making techniques.

Jerry is the chocolate man. He covers the caramels and cream centers made by his brothers with the robust chocolate covering that makes Cerreta’s chocolate so distinctive.

Sales to the grocery and retail trade, running of the in-house store, mail-order operations and overseeing the web site are handled by Joner.

Even the wives get into the act. Joe’s wife Marisa gives daily tours to the public, and her enthusiasm is contagious!

Marisa & Joe’s sons work in the factory in the summer. These two boys represent Cerreta’s fourth generation of candy makers.

  • This factory shop sells the locally made candies that is mostly sold in bulk at grocery stores. If you are lucky you'll be there on a day they are doing factory tours.
  • I went in looking for a selection of souvenir's, I found a small amount but wished they had more items to choose from. However the staff was very friendly.
  • What a great place to see something fun......chocolate and candy being made. Our grandkids did the VIP tour and made chocolate pizza's together. Great place for 4 generation of people to have fun! Plu...  more »

  • Tour a real candy factory! OK, so the health department won't actually let you stick your fingers into the chocolate, but it's the best place in the Valley of the Sun for absolutely fresh chocolates. Enough variety for everyone; including sugar-free choices, chili - infused candies, peanut brittle, 4 pound (yes four!) chocolate bars, and cinnamon roasted nuts. And it smells amazing. ...
  • Cerreta's is our hometown chocolate factory!!! Both of my married children had their chocolate bars as wedding favors at their weddings back in Oklahoma!!! We've got one more wedding coming up, guess we need to start thinking about ordering some more chocolate!!! ❤❤❤
  • What an absolutely delightful place!!! The selection of candy here is astounding, and depending on what's in production at the time, you can watch it being made right before your eyes!!! Definitely a "must-visit" when you're in town.
  • They have yummy homemade chocolate! !! And its family owned not some big corporate company
  • I called this afternoon and spoke with Trish. I needed to order 125 small gift boxes of chocolates by this weekend. Several others were unable to fulfill my request. Trish listened to exactly what I wanted, made suggestions, and assured me that she could take care of the order by Saturday. I get a call 90 MINUTES later saying that my order is finished! I drove over shortly before closing. The shop is awesome! I can't wait to bring my kids back for one of their tours. Totally old school candy shop with old (surely reliable!) machines. I love seeing companies like this still exist. Trish was there waiting for me and called me by name as I walked through the door. She had my order all boxed up, but she first grabbed me a sample of all of the candies that she had put in the order. Delicious! They make great stuff. Super impressed. I hope that this business will continue to have a long, prosperous existence.
