  • We are members of the vineyard's scheduled delivery club. A good variety in each quarterly selection. Lots of events each month  more »
  • Although the view of the moving cars on Washington Highway may be off-putting, we instead focused on our wines, the sunset, and the vines in front of us. For $8, tastings of 14 wines is amazing and re...  more »
  • My wife and I went to the Harvest wine party at James River Cellars. The event was on the patio and grounds in an area that was dog friendly. We enjoyed live music and crab cakes and oysters from food...  more »
  • The venue at James River is really nice especially with the outdoor seating. Everything is clean and they have plenty of workers to handle the crowds. The tasting area however, was a little smaller than I would expect from a place that is so busy. They also had three people working tastings so there was no sense of community in the tasting and they seemed a little rushed instead of taking their time and "selling" you the wine or explaining the process. The wine itself fell a little flat as well, my husband and I didn't go home with any bottles, though we did buy one glass because we enjoyed the logo. This location is very conveniently located in Richmond and isn't far to drive.
  • Super cute vineyard, great customer service!! Also love their blush wine slush!!!
  • Amazing customer service. The staff are kind and are like family. I am glad i joined their wine club!
  • My wife and I were wine club members for a few years before moving to SC and we loved the wines at James River and visit every time we are in VA. However, the service on this trip was awful. After purchasing over a case of wine, we asked if we could borrow a knife to cut our cheese for our cheese and crackers and lady getting our classes said she would look. She came back and said "I did not see a knife in passing", so she did not get us one. In addition, apparently some of their bottles were missed labeled which I completely understand. However I did not check my case since the cashier boxed it up for me and as you can see in the image, I ordered 4 bottles of Rad Red (which is on the label), but the label actually says oops I'm actually Hanover Red. One would think the staff would be more cautious with mislabeled bottles. Update: The tasting room manager finally got in contact with me and is refunding us the cost of the incorrect bottle, but its still disappointing to not receive what you order in addition to the poor customer service.
  • Good wine but staff (pretty stiff always asking for ID) and atmosphere (adjacent to an industrial highway and a driving range) give it a 3.
