  • Crow Creek Mine is located within the town of Girdwood. To reach this mine you should go a long unpaved road 3 miles deep in the woods. Here if you want to just hang out and to be impressed from the p...  read more »
  • Nice how they keep this place up and running to share with students and visitors. You can visit the old structures and walk down to the water and try your luck gold panning. If the walk is too much, t...  read more »
  • Bring waterproof boots and get ready to get dirty. This was an absolute blast! It's a small hike to get to the area where you pan for gold, but so much fun.
  • My family has been a few times and it has always been a wonderful experience but especially our last visit. My daughter is not quite 2 and had to fast before a medical procedure that she would be put under for, how do you explain to a tiny tot that they can't eat when hungry, you don't you distract them. She loves rocks and I love the scenery of this place so it was a win. The staff were above and beyond amazing and helpful. A kind lady working the desk even gave her a gorgeous pink rock shaped like a heart. It's her new prize possession among her collection, she even had it in her little bag to bring with to the hospital. I just want to say thank you for a truly amazing alaska experience last time and every time we have been.
  • Absolutely outstanding venue for our wedding. Beautiful grounds and an excellent staff made for a great day. Our guests raved about the location!
  • The old mining camp is well preserved and the surrounding grounds are well maintained & beautiful. Trails to the mining areas is not a difficult walk from the main camp and the trails are well marked. Shovels & tools are provided if you don't have your own. They offer instructions if needed. They provide military discounts.
  • A fantastic place to experience what Alaska was and still is. Panning in the creek is calming and rewarding $...if you're lucky. The grounds are well kept and the staff is helpful and friendly.
  • The scenic part of the experience is fantastic and breath taking, but if you are going to find gold... Good luck! 😩
