Gettysburg Museum of History, Gettysburg

4.6
Get a sense of Americana from the broad, diverse collection at Gettysburg Museum of History, housing artifacts from the Civil War and World Wars I and II, as well as items associated with U.S. presidents and pop icons. Made famous by the popular television show "American Pickers," the museum is owned and curated by passionate collector Erik L. Dorr. See Civil War memorabilia, such as a frock coat and carbine rifle, as well as some rather bizarre relics, including a lock of Marilyn Monroe's hair and a portion of a car seat stained with JFK's blood. • This is a quaint and quality private museum where you can see some great artifacts and even buy some to take home with you. The admission is free, but please leave a donation in the bucket for the nice people that run this!! Great little place!!!😁
  • Absolutely amazing collection! The WWII collection alone is worth the trip from anywhere. Eric graciously took some time to speak with me and he was so willing to share. I highly recommend making this a must see.
  • Very Humble tribute to Gettysburg and small pieces of later history. This was a fantastic sight to see, and I have to remind everyone that this Museum is not Federally or State funded, it's all made possible via donations by visitors! Lots to see and read here.
  • Museum was great. The cyclorama was amazing and the movie was good too. The audio tour was very good, but got a bit lost in all the immense details and took a few tracks to figure out when we were supposed to stop the car, listen or drive. We figured it out and it was fun. We spread it out over two days actually.
  • This is a fun place to experience for all ages! Organized, well laid out, descriptions are easy to read and understand.
