Where to stay in Gettysburg

Though Gettysburg offers plenty of lodging options to suit every visitor's budget, remember that you must reserve your room at least a few months ahead of time if you plan to attend the popular battle reenactments. Many inns in the heart of town offer both a sense of history and many modern amenities, including exercise facilities and both indoor and outdoor pools. You can also choose to stay at a comfortable hotel just northwest of the area's historical battlefield complex, located only minutes from downtown.

  • Very pleasant staff. Charming inventory stuff you will not find anywhere else
  • Soaps are great. Some of the staff were slightly snobbish. I don't enjoy being followed around because I have a larger bag. I walked from the hotel and it's just easier to carry the bags from stores I've bought items at. That only occured once but changed my POV of the store. I probably make more then all the employees in the store that day combined in less then a year. No need to be snooty towards anyone.
  • Well-crafted American-made gifts
  • Lots of neat things to buy
  • Prices have gone up since last year. In addition to this we were followed around the store and made to feel like crooks (almost made you feel like Julia Robert in Pretty Woman). While they may have some beautiful pieces I wouldn't buy anything because of the way they made us feel and most everything is overpriced anyway.
