The purpose of Friends of the Limberlost is to promote the Limberlost Cabin State Historic Site as an educational historic facility that fosters remembrance of Gene Stratton-Porter's love of nature reflected in her nature studies, photography, and novels; to assist the Indiana Department of Natural Resources, Division of Indiana State Museum and State Historic Sites, with the operation of the Limberlost Cabin State Historic Site; and to promote the development and restoration of wetlands by assisting and cooperating with the Indiana Department of Natural Resources, Division of Nature Preserves.Put Limberlost State Historic Site into our Geneva trip itinerary planning site to see other points of interest to visit during your vacation in Geneva.

I inherited all of Gene Stratton-Porter's books and this is my first chance to see her 14 room home built in 1895 in Geneva. We paid a small fee and received an hour tour of the house and grounds. I h... more »
Love the new visitors center and their selection of her books. The carriage house was restored very nicely. Love the further restoration done on the house as well. Great staff!
Excellent tour by friendly and knowledgeable staff and volunteers!! Will be reading more books by Gene Stratton-Porter when I get home. Fascinating woman and life story.
