Otsego Club Reviews

Having played hundreds of golf courses over the past 40 plus years, the course that stands at the top of my rankings is The Tribute at Otsego Club. That statement is based on the design of each hole, ... more »

We played The Tribute course on a Sat afternoon and had a great day. The course is beautiful and in great shape. It was awesome to play a course that nice, but that also has a very relaxed atmosphere.... more »

We just returned from the Otsego Club & Resort. We stayed in the Blue Spruce Lodge. The door to our room had no extra lock. There was a dead bolt but no mechanism to operate it. One kick or shoulder push would open the door quite easily. We couldn't believe there was no small fridge in the room. During the past fifteen years I have stayed in many different hotels and motels and there was always a small fridge in every room I stayed in. Our room was a non smoking room but it was very obvious this room had occupied many smokers. Since we had a Car'ls golf land certificate we played the Classic golf course. The course needs attention very badly. The sand traps have not been raked or weeded this year. There were no towels on any of the ball washers, not one. It was our first time playing this course and on a four or five occasions we had no idea where the next tee-off was. A few signs would solve this problem. They are cheap to make so what's the problem? The course has four sets of tees, back, middle, forward and front. The first three I mentioned were usually no more than ten yards apart and on the same level. The front tees appeared to be thrown on the fairways, not tee boxes, everywhere and anywhere. Our GPS would not work on this course. We found out later that some of the holes were changed around. There are many beautiful courses and nice places to stay in this area. Unfortunately, the Classic golf course and the Blue Spruce Lodge are in dire need of attention. I would not recommend the above golf course or Lodge to anyone.

Have golfed the Tribute in the past and have loved it. Always great views, but this time there was a problem. Greens were miserable with patches all over them. Tee boxes seemed to be not kept up very well and was especially on the par 3s. Fairways were in good shape as was the rough. Sand was unplayable with rocks everywhere and unraked sand. When saying something to the staff the answer I got was well its under new ownership. There were also no rangers on the course with some rowdy groups. Staff very friendly as was the on course beverage cart. Cant see spending $70 on a round with all the courses in the area with that many course maintenance issues.

Just so-so. If you are expecting a top-notch resort course then you will be disappointed. We all had coupons for 100$ for two at Tribute. Great views, yes - but course maintenance was not very good as others have mentioned. I don't think any of us would've paid full price for this ($99). Greens #5 and #12 have some bad sections, but they don't put the flags near them so its no big deal. Staff was very friendly. Currently no liquor license as they are going through an ownership change.

I was staying here for a wedding and was less than impressed with the the resort in whole. From check in to check out I never got a feeling that I wanted to come back. The front desk was unorganized, rude, and unprofessional. The room itself was run down and the door jam was busted in two. As far as the wedding goes, the resort lost their liquor license about 3 weeks before the wedding and failed to call the bride and let her know. The coordinator here, Bob, was exceptionally unprofessional. He was unprepared, unorganized, unable to answer questions, and never there when you needed him. We used my phone for music during the ceremony and he disappeared with it afterwards. It took me an hour of standing at the front desk to get the woman there to track him down. A weekend that was supposed to be relaxing turned in to several moments of frustration. I do not recommend staying here and definitely not getting married here.

Thank you to the best staff in Gaylord. Our daughter's wedding was a huge success. This was the most relaxing 3 days for ourselves, family and guests. The staff, from housekeeping to front desk, to planners, to kitchen and set up went above and beyond. We never had to ask a second time for anything and were met with a smile with each request. They were professional at every corner and made you feel like we were their family. The setting was extraordinary, beautiful and welcoming. I can never thank Otsego Club and resort enough for their attention to detail along with their "no is not an option" attitude. The girls stayed onsite the night before the wedding in the beautiful Chalet. The make up and hair teams came to the club so the girls did not have to leave. Brunch was served by the club for them (Wonderful), Pictures were taken among the most beautiful of backgrounds. The ceremony was in front of the fireplace, rounding out with horderves followed by dinner. In short, the club hosted our entire event with minimal stress if any. I would highly recommend the club to host any event..they are second to none. Thank you for making our daughter and son-in-laws day so memorable.
