  • Lots of fun go at Night when the lights are on lots of fun. Speed of 30 mph. Good GeForce around the terms.
  • I visited this october with a foreign family who didn't speak English pretty well. Man look at us coming and started yelling if everyone in the party spoke English. I offered him that i will translate...  read more »
  • I am 47 and LOVED this ride! I was honestly scared to death because you control the speed yourself, however it was a total blast! I laughed alot and screamed a few times too lol. It was so much fun!!
  • Great ride and each individual rider can brake and slow down in the event it's too fast. The first ride is pricey ($16/person) but is half price for additional rides on the same day. We rode during the day and at night. I highly recommend the night ride through the lights wrapped around the track.
  • Alpine Coasters are my new thing - they're so fun! I don't like roller coasters so when I was dragged here I was anything but thrilled to be doing this. Little did I know that they are so much fun! You get to go down the hill by yourself and you control the speed! The way they work is they take you to the top of the hill and allow gravity and the incline of the hill to bring you back down. There is a lever on the side that you can pull back on to apply the brake if you get scared and want to go slower. Otherwise you push it all the way forward and go down the hill at about 30mph! The prices are a little steep and you have to pay if you want to ride again - but at a reduced price of $8. Its just so much fun that no review can do it justice. The staff is nice and friendly - and even when you do something wrong like I apparently did they weren't jerks about it! If you're in the area ride them...ride them all!
  • Most expensive coaster in the area and the shortest ride. Figure that out lol. Anybody who gives this a good review clearly hasnt been on the other coasters in the area. Plus like stated by many others in the reviews the workers are very rude. Seems as if their goal is to complain or argue with every single person that shows up.
  • I have ridden all four of the area's Alpine Coasters and I can safely say that, in my opinion, of the three Wiegand installations (Smokey Mountain Alpine Coaster, The Coaster at Goats on the Roof, and Gatlinburg Mountain Coaster), this is my favorite. It feels shorter than the other two listed above but it also feels substantially faster. Even more importantly though, of all four of the area's four options (listed above plus Ober Gatlinburg's Ski Mountain Coaster), the Gatlinburg Mountain Coaster has what I'd personally consider to be, by far, the most efficient and professional operations. All of the staff we encountered were friendly, professional, and incredibly quick. Despite walking up to one of the longest lines I encountered at an Alpine Coaster in the area, I was on the ride faster than I could have ever imagined. They got three or four cars loaded and dispatched in the same amount of time I've seen one loaded and dispatched at other places (*cough* Ober Gatlinburg *cough*). Anyway, all around, my experience was fantastic. If you're in the area, I highly recommend stopping by. PS: The lights lining the course are a HUGE bonus for night rides on this Alpine Coaster. Hopefully they become a staple across all of the installations.
  • Had a worker yell at me to "Come on!" whenever i didn't see that he was ready for me which was very rude. This worker also didn't explain the instructions clearly at all. It is also kind of expensive for no longer than you are actually on the ride. You more spend time on the ride climbing the hills.
