This is a great place to visit. It takes a while for the history and the magnitude of what happened here to sink in. It's so important that we have these places to pay respects to those who passed bef...  more »

Interesting history here! I suggest reading about it a but before going to fully appreciate the experience. Has walking and biking trails around the battlefield. The park itself is very large. Spend time at the museum; it has plenty of real, recovered items from the battlefield and teaches you about each one. The displays are also interactive and very high quality. Every 45 minutes or so they show a short documentary/reenactment about the battle in the small theater within the museum. Watch it! (It's not that cheesy) highly recommend coming here and great for kids/groups.

My family and I LOVE visiting the park. They daily and year pass was inexpensive. We bought a yearly pass because we love to hick the park each weekend we have off of work. The park is super clean, the rangers are super nice, and very informative. And there is a store with kid items, books, and clothing. There is a movie about the war that occurred in the park that can be watched at the visitors center.

A hauntingly beautiful piece of Arkansas history - a very fierce Civil War battle was fought here. This is a place of reflection on the hundreds upon hundreds of lives lost from both sides. A place for all Americans to learn the details of this bloody battle, and sincerely pay our respects to all who lost their lives.

A true Civil War battlefield restored as close as possible to the original state the armies found it in the 1860s. The museum is informative and well presented with lots of artifacts and an educational movie. Looking forward to going back again.

Neat place! Very well done visitor center to help make sense of the confused brawl. I intend to go back for a reenactment day.
