  • We had a great time fishing on the pier several days. The staff and locals on the dock were very helpful
  • A great view, good fishing, but Texas needs a bottle law. I don't think I have seen so much garbage and old bottles anywhere in the country as this area.
  • The staff is super friendly! The pier is also kept very clean so it's a wonderful place to take your children to fish. They have great gear to rent too if you did not plan on fishing!
  • All the people here are super friendly! Both the staff and the customers. Nice community. Open 24/7. If you're not fishing you can usually walk on the pier for free; sometimes they charge a very small admission fee for holidays or other special times. They serve ice cream from Hey Mikey's! A LOCAL ice cream shop in the historic district near the Strand on Post Office St. Complete with waffle cones! They're also across the street from the famous Kites Unlimited, and downstairs from the restaurant Jimmy's, who deliver to the pier! They also have coffee, frozen lemonade, smoothies, and other great drinks. A great place to hang out!
  • Had a wonderful time night -fishing here. Lots of fish action and the pier lights really attract the fish. Nice fish variety including Trout, Crab, Croakers, Catfish, Drum and Stingrays. Really cool to see all of these swimming near the surface. It is very convenient to rent the poles and buy the bait here. Extremely affordable entertainment. The shop has lots of tackle and supplies if you happen to need them. Even fishing licenses are available. Free parking in the evening. Relaxed atmosphere friendly to singles, couples or families. Loved it.
  • My wife and I love this place. We come about once a week and eat at Jimmy's. We like walking down the pier and watch the people fishing. Several times there's been some pretty nice sized fish being brought in. I would recommend the GFP to anyone coming to Galveston for a fun little adventure. Terry & Jeanne H Jamaica Beach, TX
  • Plenty of rides for little and big kids. Very clean and lines for rides were quick with little wait time. One downfall though, is the fact that you have to pay about $10 if your a non-rider. Everyone must pay to get on pier.
  • These people will discriminate you based on your race, how you dress and the rangy age you speak. I will share my story and video and show how there is still discrimination in america. Galveston's worst place to fish and spend your $ on. Smh
