  • From East beach you can see the large tankers waiting for the port of Galveston or Houston. In addition, there are many fished and there are many birds to view. Swimming is far too dangerous because of a strong current. Also may be the way ever flood at high tide.

  • Okay, just like food, music, art, ...we all have our individual tastes. This beach is for those who would rather be Alone & mostly undisturbed. The 'fun' & 'excitement', 'fancy hotels' (and inexpensiv...  more »

  • Best beach. You can drink beer on this beach! So if you want an adult party... woohoo
  • This is the least crowded beach in Galveston and my preference by far. You can use a radio flyer wagon to haul an ice chest, chairs and umbrellas out near the water which I highly recommend versus carrying everything. The restrooms and snack bar are a bit far but they're better than a port-o-potty. If you're nice to them, the umbrella guys will let you borrow their electric screwdriver to drill into the sand for your umbrella. This helps get it down deep enough so it doesn't blow away. Otherwise, plan to bring your own because the wind will pick up and there's a lot of room for your umbrella to travel.
  • It's a pretty good beach. Not so crowded. But the water is very dense, you can't see anything in the water even with goggles on. There's quite good waves. You can even find quite some big snails on the beach if you are a knee deep in the water. I'd recommend it for a family recommendation
  • Nice place for family activity. Water is NOT blue and clear as Miami. But it's good enough for kids to have fan. Parking on weekend may be difficult.
  • Enjoyed it. Plenty of room on a Sunday. The parking was $15 cash only though. You can park a bit further and just walk to the beach if you rather not pay. I would go back.
