  • Beautiful building! The hologram wasn't working at all and the displays are ok. Small museum, didn't take long to walk through it at all. Not sure it's worth the entrance fee.
  • Galena is a delightful historical town with a lot of places to eat. The shopping experience is especially awesome with very helpful staff. Even if you do not like to shop there is a lot to do & see. T...  more »

  • Nice museum somewhat related to General Grant, but also related to the Civil War - Nice displays and some are interactive. $20 entry fee, but I felt like I was donating to the museum more than paying admittance. There is a short (10 minute) holographic presentation from General Grant and his Wife, and then after that you are on your own. Can get through the museum in an hour or two depending on what peaks your interest. There is an actual mine shaft that you can peer down into - which is very cool. There is also a small gift shop for souvenirs.
  • Very nice collection, great staff, reasonable price :)
