  • A mansion with a few re-created rooms of the wealthy Gainesville baron who lived there long ago. The art gallery when I was there featured the works of good ol' boy master carver Jesse Aaron, who did ...  read more »
  • Love to spend a lazy afternoon walking through the gorgeous corridor of The Thomas Center House and gardens. Its majestic Oak tree is perfect for an afternoon nap or to read a book. Beautiful gardens.
  • beautiful old buildings and grounds and exhibits inside, good clear OR rainy day visit, old Gainesville/Old Florida trip down memory lane!
  • Charming building with great architecture, great for photos at any angle inside or outside. Inside the building are great period rooms and cell phone tour that help tell the story of the Thomas family and the history of Gainesville. The art galleries house great exhibits and receptions throughout the year with air condition to beat the heat. The lawn and gardens outside are a great spot to throw a frisbee, read a book, or hunt Pokemon.
  • The Thomas Center is an under-appreciated and underutilized gem in Downtown Gainesville! The gardens are beautiful all year long, but especialy colorful and fun in the spring and summer, the sprawling lawns are just begging to be picnicked upon, and there are tons of benches, shady areas, and tree trunks to perch under for a good afternoon read.
  • I love their free art exhibits when they have them! Beautiful building and the workers genuinely care about the arts here in town.
  • I love spending time just sitting in the shade of a tree in the grass here. A great place to get your "think" on. Art galleries inside the spanish courtyard rock.
  • Beautiful historic location. I've lived in Gainesville practically all my life but had never been until recently, my children had their art displayed. I believe we will return, perhaps for a tour someday!
