  • surprised by this hidden gem near downtown Gainesville. Really enjoyed our time checking out the bamboo and other collections. Saw a lot more wildlife than expected in the gardens.
  • A peaceful oasis so close to town! Well maintained, beautiful gardens and arboretum. A haven for birds and humans alike!
  • This is an excellent place to spend two to three hours strolling amongst plants and trees. It's well laid out and you are given a useful guide. Plenty of shade available. It's well established and see...  more »

  • I took my puppy here for a long walk. I think she had an excellent time. For me I was really hoping to find more flowers and color. Everything was labeled and there were aome really interesting plants I have never seen before. Maybe it was the time of year we went. If you are in Gainesville it is definitely worth doing to spend a couple hours in nature.
  • This place was absolutely beautiful! $8 per person was totally worth it. A nice 1 mile stroll through a beautiful garden on one side and a short walk to a small waterfall on the other :)
  • Oct 9th-The entrance hosts a pond, large bamboo round & a Green Dragon fountain. Get your bug spray, there's skeeter's & bees! The store & foyer has various gifts crafted from natural materials, with freshly picked banana clusters to pick a banana from at no charge! The 1 mile path thru what I assume is the northern side of the entrance is mainly earthy ground, with the Hummingbird garden being the most active with frogs, b-flys, bees, etc & hosts sparkling clean restrooms with full accommodations of a cold water drinking fountain, hand soap & paper towels, & a beautiful sitting gazebo nearby the facility. My favorite garden is the Rock garden with cacti, assorted jumbo plants and naturally arranged rocks. Most floral appearances here are small delicate blooms at this time of year. The 1/2 southern (?) side path has alot of water areas to enjoy with sitting areas. Patches of banana trees abound, and signs mark every type of plant in each garden. Gazebos & sitting areas are abundant. This park is pathed thru natural scenery with lovely floral aromas embracing your walk.
  • Must see. Best collection of semi tropical bamboo anywhere in florida. Also, many other thematic gardens.
  • Great place to walk and learn about local FL. Plants and botanics. Shady places to eat too.
