#2 of 8 in Things to do in Front Royal
Glen Manor Vineyards is located in Virginia approximately 70 miles west of Washington D.C., situated on a western flank of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The surrounding mountains, ranging between 1400 and 3400 feet in elevation, form a “Glen” which gives the vineyards a unique environment: A world of its own. The vines grow high on very steep mountain slopes characterized by deep, well-draining, and rocky soils.

  • Kelly and Jeff are wonderful hosts and the wine is fantastic. Chemistry doesn't make the wine, biology does and Jeff's attention to detail on his vines reflects through their fresh and crisp offerings. The view is phenomenal and the story of the place engaging. Highest recommendation in wonderful Virginia viticulture!
  • Terrible experience. This is not the winery we visited a few years ago. We were basically chased off the property because we came in two cars consisting of 4 people each - 2 children, 2 senior citizens, and 2 adults. Before we could even ask if the 4 adults who were interested in wine tasting could stay in the tasting room while the children and their grandparents remained outside to enjoy the lovely scenery, we were told to leave because "WE HAVE A SIGN THAT SAYS NO MORE THAN 6 PEOPLE IN A PARTY!" Wow! Can I just say how embarrassed I was?! The manager basically accosted us in the parking lot before we could even turn off the engine. It was such a horrible experience. My husband and I had been there on a few other occasions but we will never return - even if we have a party of six or fewer! Shame on Glen Manor - a place where we expected to receive the sincere Virginian hospitality and we were sorely disappointed.
  • We had a great wine tasting here. I wish they did pairings (that would have gotten them all five stars). The views here are fantastic as well as you are tucked away in the rolling hills/mountains. If there weren't so many vineyards to go see in the area we would definitely be back in the near future...
  • This vineyard is all about good, no, Excellent wine. They do not produce the most wine but definitely some of the best in Virginia! Worth the ride to find them.
  • Some of the best wine in Virginia. The tasting experience is first class. No, this is not the place to host 20 person groups, but that is what makes this place so special. Serious wine.
