  • English Camp has quite a few buildings left to see. Many are Originals built by the Royal Marines! It was a farm for a while after the Marines left luckily the farmer saved some of the buildings. And he also built himself a grand house which they appear to be restoring. Great walking trails and access to Beach. During my visit all buildings were locked. Maybe they open them up on special occasions like Memorial Day and 4th of July.. even when not raining it's kind of wet around here bring good shoes. If you stay on the trails you are fine.
  • The English definitely picked the better location for their camp- nestled in a beautiful valley with large trees nearby. The history surrounding the Pig War is incredible and the National Park Service does a terrific job explaining it. No visit to San Juan Island would be complete without a visit to both the British and American camps.
  • Beautiful country meets seaside. Tells about the past when English soldiers occupied that side of the island. Nice hike up to the officers quarters.
  • Beautiful hikes and views. Visit for encampment for some cool reenactments.
  • Just beautiful.. perfect place for wedding photography..
