  • Even in 100+ degree temperature, Shinzen Friendship Garden is a very pleasant place to be. The waterfalls make soothing sounds. The koi fish are colorful. The views of the lake, the concrete lanterns....  more »
  • Recommend going in the spring or fall when the flowers are at their best. There is some shade but the heat of summer is not the best time to visit unless you go in the morning before it gets too hot.  more »
  • Very beautiful and peaceful gardens. We loved the nature path and birds we saw along the way. Inspiring and quiet. Very reasonably priced too.  more »
  • I am a great fan of bonsais. I love them. The Shinzen Friendship Garden is an excellent example of the beauty of Japanese gardening. It portrays the intricate, meticulously kept, quiet, unspoken excellence of the Japanese culture. I was amazed at the relaxing peaceful beauty of this place. So clean and serene. I took my grand daughter here and we really enjoyed it. Took a stroll around on the path provided, sat awhile and gazed at the water, the magnificent pheasants and the beauty of the moment. Spectacular. $5 for adults, $1 children and not much more for the entire family. Well worth it.
  • There is a special quality to a Japanese Garden that evokes calmness and contemplation, especially when it is appropriately maintained. The Shinzen is one such. It invites strolling, admiring koi, soaking in the various species of plant life and calmly sitting and being in the moment. The Clark Bonsai exhibit is an additional jewel that greatly adds to the overall experience. You can feel the love that goes into the care and upkeep of the grounds. That may be why it is a popular location for weddings!
  • The place is so beautiful! Great for pictures and for just walking around and admiring the place. Not expensive and recommend to go check it out. Not that big though.
  • Is a nice garden, landscape to see and supper affordable. Cost only $7.00 to enter as a family ticket plus your parking ticket for $5.00 so is an affordable outing for the whole family. You can walk it out in about 1 hour. I recommend this place, Is beatiful!!.
  • We visited this garden and walked, finding ourselves leaning toward a mindful and meditative experience. This should be a destination for every person in Fresno! The pond, the coi fish, the varied plants and flowers and seating scenic areas over a long winding (and easy) path throughout the garden is not to be missed. If you haven’t been to the garden, plan for 1.5-2 hours to really enjoy and relax.
