Wolfe's Neck Woods State Park is a publicly owned recreation area located on Casco Bay on the southeastern side of Freeport, Maine. The state park was created when the Lawrence M.C. Smith family donated the land to the state in 1969. It contains over of protected land and is used for hiking, birdwatching, picnicking, cross-country skiing, and snowshoeing. Park trails traverse both forested lands and rocky shoreline, offering views of Casco Bay and the Harraseeket River.

  • Was in area & looking for a nice easy walk to see some local colors. Park was nicely balanced with flat terrain & parts that were a bit up & down through the woods to the coast.  more »

  • A great place for kids and families, this is an easy hike, walk or bike along their groomed walking trails. There is some pristine old growth forest in the Wolfs Neck State Park, and the farm is a great source for local produce. Wheelchair accessible, bathrooms, horshoes and more!
  • Easy to find from downtown Freeport with clear road signage. Fee access, like most state parks, with ample parking. Full facilities including handicapped facilities and trails.Miles of trails with good signage and maps. Easy water view access, some handicapped accessible and some not.
  • Great state park on the coast! Plenty of hiking trails through the woods of varying abilities and decent waterfront access. Very knowledgeable staff, very friendly and polite! Will return!
  • Beautiful park to see shoreline. Easy walk from the parking lot to the beach. Highly recommended for an afternoon get away.
  • Naturally beautiful place... many trails for all skill levels... there is a fee to enter the park... 6$ for adults from out of state
