  • Since we were staying right next door at the Econo Lodge, this was a nobrainer. We walked over from the hotel on a Sunday afternoon. The taproom wasn't too crowded and we easily got a table. Since we ...  more »
  • Had the pleasure of tasting a few of Maine Beers brews at a place back home so we decided this must be a visit on our trip to Maine. Did not disappoint. Small space overlooking the brewery. Very new w...  more »
  • We love to stop at Maine Beer Company while traveling Rt. 1 into Maine from Massachusetts. They have about eight great beers on tap (good variety, too), some brewery-only releases, and usually a food ...  more »

  • This place is fantastic. I stopped in with my boyfriend for flights, on a trip where the majority of our time was spent visiting breweries, and we both agreed this one was the best of them all. My boyfriend went for the full color spectrum, including Mean Old Tom and Zoe, as well as some lighter beers, and loved all of them. I went for all IPA' s, and equally enjoyed mine. The beers were all very fresh and unique. Their tasting room is lovely - simple yet elegant. I liked their beer can collage above the bar. They have a little booklet on each table that you can flip through, which has a story behind each of the beers on tap. We really enjoyed reading the corresponding story for each beer while drinking it. The service was friendly and prompt, and it was cool to be able to look into the brewery via a window. My only regret is that we didn't take any beer home with us. They have individual bottles and cases for sale - no six packs, unfortunately. All in all, excelent brewery. Definitely worth a trip.
  • These guys have the freshest beer in Maine, and they brew it sustainably, working with Assured Solar Energy to make their beer as earth friendly as possible. They have some awesome pretzels made by a local bakery, the hops, wheat and other ingredients in their beers is almost all local. There is a delicious food truck that is usually parked out front, with some great menu items that really complement the freshness of their beers.
  • Quality, tasty beer, aesthetically pleasing place....we didn't eat but pizza from food truck outside looked very good...a bit pricey relative to my other favorite brewing companies and they do small pours, 5 and 10 ounce. But definitely a great place for a few
  • My favorite brewery!! I've never had a bad beer from Maine Beer Company. Lunch, Dinner, Mean Old Tom, all great! Love that they're sustainable too! Can't go wrong with great beer and an environmentally friendly business model! 1% for the planet! Well worth the trip to visit!
  • I must be honest I review breweries across the country, I do not advertise who i am and my purpose for being there which allows for an honest review. Let me start by saying this place is more for a wealthy clientele that know nothing about beer. The atmosphere is anything but inviting for the average American it's more geared towards the Kennebunkport Maine Elitist crowd, with that being said I have been touring breweries for years and this particular brewery is far from being ready to meet that distinction! I can report with experience and an intimate knowledge of brewing that this company has a long way to go before reaching the recognition deserving of a place to go out of the way to visit. The owners should tour some established companies as well as some up and coming breweries that have gotten it right! I purchased all of the brews that they sell at the time if this post and have provided an honest evaluation below. All brews on a sliding 1-10 scale: ZOE-AMBER ALE: This Amber Ale rates a 3! That's a generous rating! I'm not even sure you can call this an Ale if you compare it to other Ale's! In England this would be a lager on the field with PBR! Try an Amber Ale on any grocery store shelf and you will throw this swill in the garbage! To the Brewers throw it away and do your homework then start over. Alcohol content- average (Good for ppl that want to get sloshed) Sorry Zoe! Come on Dad do what's right! PEEPER-PALE ALE: This Pale Ale rates a 2! I won't waste my time or anyone else's time with a rating! Paint Thinner! No apologies for this rating! Alcohol content: DOESN'T MATTER RUN FROM THIS CONCOCTION OF DEATH! A TINY BEAUTIFUL SOMETHING-PALE ALE: Thank you! This Pale Ale rates a 6! Alcohol content is unimportant! (It's up there though) Needs more aging, however I would buy it again! Build off of this brew and then name it something beautiful like ZOE! I'll have to review the other three (3) brews at a later date as I find tasting the remaining brews intolerable to my palate!
