  • My family loves picking here and stopping by the store. The pies are delicious, lots of interesting items you don't see at other places. Picking is always a lot of fun. Starting in spring with strawberries and ending in fall with pumpkins, we make the hour long trip, and enjoy every second of it.
  • Apple picking best place near New York. Even it's busy you can enjoy your day. Cider was fresh and delicious. Pies like in a dream. People nice.
  • After looking at quite a few Peach picking orchards we decided to go to Battleview Orchards and I am very happy to say we chose this one. We went this week on Tuesday and it turned out an awesome experience for the whole family. We had the entire orchard just for ourselves :) since it was a weekday. Peaches were very sweet, and loaded on trees. We tasted some before we picked and store bought peach can't be even compared to them. Kids had fun picking and we are planning to go again next week 'coz we didn't have enough :) Best part is that there's no entrance fee and no deposit required like other orchards.
  • Their market area has something for everyone. A must get is the cider donuts as they come out hot. Check their website for pick your own schedule or stop in the market and grab some.
  • I brought a pie back today that had a really horrible taste to it. Instead of the manager Shirley apologizing to me she continued to ask where the receipt was. I told her I did not save it, as I had no intention of every bringing it back. It had green mold around the edges, and was bought yesterday. She said I could go pick out another pie. When I came back to the register, she tried to charge me additional money because I did not want to get another pumpkin pie for fear of the mold again. I had not brought money in with me, figuring there would be no additional cost, since I did have a 20 minute drive each way, and courtesy for a moldy pie. I said I would go to my car and get the additional money.. She refused to let me take the pie, as if I would not return with the $2.00. She treated me like a criminal. I said, need I remind you that you do have possession of the one that was moldy as collateral. Shirley was nasty to me and what a bad attitude!! I asked to speak with the boss and owner, Lisa. Of course they said she "left" for the day. Mind you it was only 10:00am. I called later in the day to speak to Lisa. Still never returned my call. I have lived in Freehold my entire life and grew up with the Applegate's children (the owner's). It is sad that the service was nasty and did not stand behind their moldy pie!! They lost my business and I will inform others of my incident. At least the owners should have called back, but I guess they are "too busy" for good customer service.
