  • We left with some lovely plants and a lovely hottle of handmade perfume. The gardens are inspiring and the art in the gallery was fresh and innovative.
  • Great, all natural body products. The owner is very knowledgable and passionate about his work. Definitely worth stopping by to explore the farm, shop, and classroom.
  • Our Herb Society of America Gathering of members heard an awesome talk by Bill Varney of URBANherbal over a September weekend. What an inspiration Bill is. We just loved how he incorporates herbs into everyday living. His shop is a delight for the senses. Beautiful plants and herbal products that are extremely creative. Bill's passion comes through in all that he does. Wish I lived nearer to this gem of a place.
  • Great room sprays...Bill, the owner is very knowledgeable about his product! He even made me some spray on the spot because he was sold out of a certain scent...Must visit if in Fredericksburg!
  • This is the real herb farm in Fredericksburg. Bill created The Fredericksburg Herb Farm and is now creating Urban Herbal. More intimate. More local. More of everything. His gardens are lovely. He is creating a secret garden. He is personable. Friendly. A nationally know author. AND he makes excellent products from natural ingredients. I use the Coffee body Scrub. The smell of coffee while I scrub. Yum. The Savory Salt is figs, rosemary, thyme and salt ....makes every dish even better. Just had scrambled eggs with this salt. Do you need to hear more? Go see Bill. Stroll in his gardens. Hear about his plans to continue to grow Urban Herbal and take home some of his handmade products. You will be happy.

Where to stay in Fredericksburg

Fredericksburg is well known for its wide array of bed and breakfasts and inns. Those located in the city's historical neighborhoods--particularly those on or near Main Street--sit within walking distance of the city's most popular restaurants, cafes, and bars. If you prefer a more tranquil setting, consider staying on a converted ranch or renting a cabin in the surrounding hills. Fredericksburg also provides a number of hotels and motels, several of which offer swimming pools where you can cool off from the Texas heat.
