  • There was a time, not that long ago, when this was a full service station with ticket agents, baggage handling and indoor seating. These days it's basically just a platform Since there are two platforms, sometimes you need to be psychic to know on which one the train will arrive. Quite a few stairs but there is handicap access via elevator. Amtrak and Virginia Railway Express (VRE) uses this station.
  • This is not the best station I have ever been to. I enjoy traveling on Amtrak, but this station needs some serious work. There is nowhere indoors to sit, so if its cold, you're going to be cold. The loudspeaker system is nowhere near loud enough to hear any announcements, even when it is dead quiet. Unless you sign up for delay announcements or have your smartphone with you, you will have no way of knowing when they will arrive, or on which track. If you can, use the Quantico station instead.
  • You never know what side of the platform the train is going to be. Pretty much no staff. The place smells like trash because the dumpsters at the Bavarian Chef overflow and seep onto the ground.
  • What good is a train station without hookers???? So frustrating that I can't get "taken care of" before traveling from there!!! They really need to work on that. Oh, and it has trains too, so those can come in pretty handy, or so I've been told at least. Safe travels!!!
