Der Kuchen Laden is all about inspiring the little chef in all of us. One step inside and you’ll see why people call it the candy store for kitchen geeks. Located in one of Fredericksburg, Texas’ most historic buildings, it has a charm like no other. Enjoy small, cozy rooms packed floor to ceiling with everything from cookie cutters to small appliances. There is a veteran sales staff that feel more like friends than hired help. • I could have shopped in this store for hours. I saw cooking items I have never seen before. I will probably go back for another shopping trip.  more »

  • Fantastic store with a huge inventory that rivals that of any bug city store! More options there than in most other kitchen stores that I have been in. Well informed staff with good alternatives for those on a budget, too, while you save up for those dream items.
  • Love this store. Always helpful staff. Get an espresso inside while you shop. Best kitchen store ever.
  • This store is huge, probably bigger than most of the stores I've been to. It's filled with all sorts of amazIng things for the kitchen. Just about anything you could think you'd need for cooking you can find here. The staff is really nice and knowledgeable. Would shop here on a regular basis.
  • Probably my favorite store in town! They do have gadgets galore, and I can usually find that one oddity that I can't find at the big box stores. The staff is very knowledgeable. It is in an old hospital building and they have found ways to merchandise every nook and cranny, so it feels like an exploration trip! Keep up the good work!
  • Very nice place for someone that likes to cook or bake.

Fredericksburg is well known for its wide array of bed and breakfasts and inns. Those located in the city's historical neighborhoods--particularly those on or near Main Street--sit within walking distance of the city's most popular restaurants, cafes, and bars. Fredericksburg also provides a number of hotels and motels, several of which offer swimming pools where you can cool off from the Texas heat.
