  • The Cherokee Ruby Mine was a fantastic experience mining for rubies. Me and my girlfriend went just to get away and enjoy the quiet. We stayed at one of Jeff Warshaw's amazing cabins on the mountain a...  more »
  • We went early in the morning when they opened. That was the best so the owners could spend time with us. It was wondeful learning all about mining. It was middle of July 2016 and hot. Did some mining,...  more »
  • First of all, this is an unsalted mine, probably one of the only one in the same area. There are tons of gem mines in the area for tourists but this is only one where what you find is natural and not ...  more »

  • Totally lived up to our expectations. The folks were friendly and helpful and we all found a few gems in our buckets. A fun adventure for sure; I would recommend going early in the day (they close at 4 but last entry is 2) and buying the extra buckets for 5 dollars each. Also I'd recommend you let the helpful staff sort through your gravel after you clean it because unless you're an expert you will miss stuff. Make sure the kids don't throw away their gravel before hand too!
  • This place is great. My daughter and I had never done this before and really had an enjoyable day. The owners are very nice and really know their stuff. This is definitely not a tourist trap but a fun and educational experience. We can't wait to go back.
  • Helpful and friendly staff. Walked away with a few nice gemstones and an education. I would highly recommend to anyone and will go there again soon!
  • Every time I've been up to this place it has been wonderful. The previous owners were very nice and helpful,I haven't experienced mining here since the new owners have taken over, but I have noticed an increase in price and also you can't dig your own anymore which really bugs me.I'm going to venture up that way soon and see what it's all about and hopefully I will have the same great experience that I've always had.
