  • Sat at the bar and ordered some tasters. Jimmy's Brew was absolutely excellent, as was the raspberry beer (more cider-like ale). All the beers were very good and the halibut hush puppies were also gre...  read more »

  • I am a traveler from the East Coast (NC,) and I learned about the brewery while my family was on an Alaskan Vacation (Cruise.) I had read the reviews online and wondered if we should even attempt to eat there. However, we had great success at the other Alaskan Craft Breweries, that we decided to take a chance and head out there. The Drive out was pleasant and not long. When we got out there we were directed to our seats outside in the tent (it was late June and about 70 degrees outside and sunny!) we were greeted with smiles all the way, and at that point had the entire outdoor section to ourselves (we knew based on earlier reviews to make reservations.) The staff was very knowledgeable and polite. They got our orders right, and were very prompt. It was very busy inside and they always came out to check on us every so often, and was never rude to us. The entire food section that was ordered was great, not sure what everyone is saying (maybe it was just us, I don't know,) but I have to say it was the best food we ate while in Fairbanks, and most of the trip since getting off the boat. If we were going to be around we would be heading back there for more!
  • me and my wife went there for dinner and it was disgusting to say the least. we ordered onion rings which were over cooked and tasted like they were cooked in the same grease as the sea food. she ordered the fish and chips and I ordered the shrimp. the fish was so greasy it dripped off the fish when she picked it up. the shrimp (yea cooked in the same grease as the onion rings) was over cooked as well and you could squeeze the grease out it. Our service was good, but not once did anybody ask how the food was. I wonder why. oh and the grease was old and should have been changed out at least a week ago.
  • Service is spotty, there used to be two really excellent servers there, I know me quit. I like to order pizzas to go but even to go orders have been hit and miss on whether or not they will even do it. Beer varies by the batch so that can be hit or miss as well. Used to have a really good blue berry cream soda that you could get filled in a growler but they quit making that as well.
  • I really want to like this place. We've been 3 times and the food is really good. However, no one has ever greeted us when we walk up to the counter and the hostess is either not present or acting very flustered. Our first trip there was good, second trip was better, third trip ended an hour after we arrived but left without getting our food (had somewhere to be so we left and just called in pizza): Third trip: waited 5 min to be greeted (literally no one was at the hostess stand and multiple employees walked by and said nothing to us) then got our table and were not greeted by wait staff for another 5-10 min and waitress seemed annoyed when she finally came over. We ordered and 40 min later we did not have our food. Manager came about 20 min in and apologized, saying there was a large party upstairs, which was appreciated, and assured us our food was "on the way" soon. Waitress came by and asked if we wanted an appetizer (why would that suddenly come faster than the food we already ordered...?, we said no thank you but appreciated the offer). 20 min later, still no food. Asked for a refill on a soda we ordered and 10 min later it was still sitting empty on our table... that did it for us, we just left a few bucks on the table and left. This was clearly a kitchen problem but front of house staff was very unprofessional. They seem understaffed and poorly prepared. We weren't upset about the slow food necessarily but we didn't have all day to wait around and it was just so poorly managed from start to finish.
  • Let's start with the horrible service. I ordered potato encrusted halibut and what I received was jerky halibut with 3 potato chips on the top of it. ( apparently that means encrusted) husband ordered peppercorn steak that had no peppercorn but did have a buttery sauce with some red peppers in it, oh and to top that off he requested medium for the steak and received well done! Told waitress the steak was overdone she offered to get him a new one. So now he is eating a plain steak and cold side dishes because she didn't ever take the old plate nor offer new sides. Overall our experience sucked and will never recommend.
