Military Museum Museum
From the early days of biplanes to the jet era, Air Force Armament Museum houses a huge collection of historical aircraft and weaponry. The museum’s main attractions include the legendary P-51 Mustang, arguably the ultimate piston-powered fighter, and the SR-71 Blackbird, which soared at record-breaking speeds and altitudes. Aircraft are displayed both inside and outside the building. Explore the museum's collection of bombs and missiles, featuring World War I hand grenades, laser-guided bunker busters, and more. Track the history of machine guns used in air combat and anti-aircraft defense. Admission to the museum is free, but donations are welcome. • Fairly wheelchair friendly. 2.5 out of 5. Some places are narrow. A couple of places lack a ramp. 70s building. Free. Self guided. Not interactive. Movie helpful. Displays somewhat antiquated.  more »

  • This is a great museum. The outside has numerous static displays of Air Force weapons and Fighters / bombers from all eras. The inside is packed full of airplanes Air Force memorabilia stories and tributes to our heroes. It is free and a must-see
  • An impressive collection of aircraft and armament history! The up close and personal view of the SR-71 was awesome!! Rest in peace John Tipton 2004! God bless our troops!
  • Located just outside Eglin AFB, this is one of the only places to study the Doolittle Raid properly. Located just 15 minutes north of the museum is the actual airfield where the Raiders trained. I highly recommend a visit to this museum to absorb the history!
  • There is a myriad of different aircraft and they are interesting to see up close and personal especially if you have worked these Weapons Systems in your Air Force career.
  • This is a great place:) There are planes outside the building to look at and the museum inside is great too. Smaller museum but packed with a lot of information and neat things.
