From the early days of biplanes to the jet era, Air Force Armament Museum houses a huge collection of historical aircraft and weaponry. The museum’s main attractions include the legendary P-51 Mustang, arguably the ultimate piston-powered fighter, and the SR-71 Blackbird, which soared at record-breaking speeds and altitudes. Aircraft are displayed both inside and outside the building. Explore the museum's collection of bombs and missiles, featuring World War I hand grenades, laser-guided bunker busters, and more. Track the history of machine guns used in air combat and anti-aircraft defense. Admission to the museum is free, but donations are welcome. • This museum was a detailed history of Eglin Air Force Base and other military historical items. The gun vault was very interesting showing how military arms have changed and evolved through the years....  read more »
  • This place was cool. If you are into planes, this is it. Would recommend you take some time to see this place. We love the military here.
  • We had a great time here, Eglin Air Force base is next door. Fighter jets taking off the whole time we were there. I loved it !!!
  • Awesome planes outside and very cool missiles inside/outside; though the indoor museum was a bit small. This museum is not as big as others but still very cool. If you're nearby on vacation, it's only about 15min from Fort Walton beach.
  • I didn't get here during business hours so I wasn't able to go inside but you can still park in the lot and walk around to see all of the planes they have on display. It was really cool looking at them all and reading about how they came to be in service. Also it is free to walk around outside.
  • Museum is easy to get to and was very clean and spacious. I like that you can walk around at your own pace and spend as much time in certain areas as you would like.
  • One of the best Aircraft museums I have been to. They allow you to walk around the Blackbird and Pav lov craft that are parked outside the museum. And you get to see a bunch or armaments from sub-machine guns to the bunker busters inside. Definitely a must visit if you are in the area.
  • Great place to walk and explore. My kids, 2 and 4, loved looking at airplanes and helicopters. We walked around the outside looking at airplanes and inside at the exhibits for about 2.5 hours. If you're in the Destin area for vacation, stop here. It is a really neat place.
