Air Force Armament Museum, Fort Walton Beach

From the early days of biplanes to the jet era, Air Force Armament Museum houses a huge collection of historical aircraft and weaponry. The museum’s main attractions include the legendary P-51 Mustang, arguably the ultimate piston-powered fighter, and the SR-71 Blackbird, which soared at record-breaking speeds and altitudes. Aircraft are displayed both inside and outside the building. Explore the museum's collection of bombs and missiles, featuring World War I hand grenades, laser-guided bunker busters, and more. Track the history of machine guns used in air combat and anti-aircraft defense. Admission to the museum is free, but donations are welcome. Excellent small museum with both interesting aircraft and aircraft weaponry. Good history of the evolution aircraft weapons from the hand-tossed grenades of WWI bi-planes to today's smart weapons and drones.

Absolutely love this place! My son(10 yrs old), husband, and I spent a few hours looking at everything. My son usually gets bored easily, but I had to promise we would come back. He didn't want to leave!
