  • Their "pitch" is that the have the site of Billy the Kid's grave. What they don't tell you is that the grave of Lucien Maxwell is also there. The "Kid" was just a punk with a gun. Maxwell was a significant individual in the history of the west and particularly New Mexico. But, this museum does not tell you that or really have much to contribute. You are much better served in learning at the nearby Bosque Redondo Museum or even the Billy the Kid Museum in the town of Fort Sumner.
