Thomas Edison, Henry Ford, and their families spent winters on adjacent properties at Edison & Ford Winter Estates, which opened to the public in 1947. Explore 8 hectares (20 acres) of land complete with 1929 landscaping, historical architecture, the Edison Botanic Research Lab, and the Edison Ford Museum. Walk through gardens once tended by Mina Edison, filled with bamboo plants, roses, and African Sausage trees, and wonder at the 120 m (400 ft) banyan tree that was planted in the early 20th century.
