  • Closest hotel on business so we stood here. Hotel rooms are much nicer than I expected for a Lodge/State Park. I fished in a couple of locations, saw a few gators and saw the most amazing sunsets. Foo...  read more »
  • We stayed the weekend in two cabins. The cabins were clean and had 4 beds. The staff was very easy to work with. We played three rounds of golf. The golf course is excellent. Very well maintained and ...  read more »

  • Beautiful park, golf course at the lake, what more could you ask for. The restaurant is absolutely stunning with lake front views and delicious southern cuisine. The bike trail takes you down a gorgeous path that everyone should experience.
  • Restaurant was awful! The Lodge rooms, pool and the entire State park itself was very nice and we enjoyed our stay, except for their lodge restaurant! The food at the evening meal appeared to be re-heated, over-cooked, and left over from their lunch buffet. The only option for desert was chocolate pie, which was still frozen, and a few individual pieces of various cake slices...on paper plates... wrapped in plastic wrap! Excessive price of $12 per person. Do not waste your money here! Bring your own food or drive into town to eat. We visited park over Memorial Day weekend. Lots of families there and many which ate at the Lodge. Since they were booked up you would think that they would have made an effort to have a decent buffet for the crowd. Only one waitress and she did her best. Bad management for sure.
  • We have always loved coming to this place. Normally I'd give this park 5 stars easy, but our last visit was not what we expected. Our family consists of four small kids that love to swim and play in the sand of the beach. I've always loved how clean the sand was here, aside from grass, wood, and mollusk shells (which are fine with me). Well, it's Fourth of July weekend, and we're here now. There are PILES of animal turds all over the beach area sand, all along the shore, washing into the water and baking in the sun. I mean, I'm talking about a lot of poop y'all. I dunno who's dogs are coming out here, but they're full of s***. I'm totally disgusted. I called the staff and then said they didn't know what to do about it, but would pass it along. What??
  • Cabins are definitly dated, but I think it adds to the charm of staying here. Views from the front porch of Cabin 1 overlook the lake, treating you to beautiful evening views. A nice place to light up a fire and relax with family and friends.
  • The place is lacking in maintenance and getting old. Don't eat at the restaurant unless you don't mind flies. I mentioned I was going to have to order take out because i was tired of fighting the flies and the waitress replied 'i know, they are even worse in the kitchen'. Having said all of that it is still the nicest place to stay for many miles. The maid service really sucks. They don't clean the toilets or the tub very well.
