  • The Fort is a great learning family destination. Highly recommend the tour and also the gift shop. The fort is also the host for the Chili Cookoff which occurs the second Sunday in October every year....  more »
  • The Fort Dodge Museum covers quite a bit of ground with a "main street" of businesses and a general store or museum building. The artifacts cover quite a range of time so it all loses focus a bit, but...  more »
  • Historically inaccurate. The original fort wasn't at this site and it certainly didn't have a wall around it. Unless you ask questions, you would assume from the displays and such that this museum had something to do with Fort Dodge the Fort. This is really a museum of Ft Dodge the TOWN not the actual Fort. I was disappointed and felt like I had been deceived. Not worth the price if you are interested in real history.
  • Looks like an interesting placed but they did not bother to post that they had closed for the winter. Wasted a trip. Try it next year maybe
  • They were winding down for the season but super friendly and great place to visit for history.
