Brewery Food & Drink
Odell Brewing Company is a craft brewery in Fort Collins, Colorado.HistoryOdell was founded in 1989 by Doug, Wynne and Corkie Odell in a converted 1915 grain elevator located on the outskirts of downtown Fort Collins. It was the second packaging craft brewery to open in Colorado, and the first in Fort Collins.Starting in his kitchen in Seattle, Doug Odell had spent ten years refining recipes and playing with brewing processes until he settled on the brewery's first two recipes, although not yet the names – 90 Shilling and Easy Street Wheat. After brewing and kegging his beer, Odell would deliver it, pick up empties, and make sales calls out of his old mustard-colored Datsun pickup. In 1994 the brewery constructed a 8000sqft building and brewed 8,300 barrels of beer. In 1996, Odell Brewing amended its draft-only commitment and added a bottling line to start packaging six packs. Numerous small expansions ensued. In 2009, the brewery again expanded, doubling its plant size to 45000sqft and increasing its beer sold to 45,000 barrels. In 2013, a new brew house was added, and the taproom and patio were remodeled. Odell Brewing is projected to sell 100,000 barrels in 2014, with the capacity to brew more than 300,000 barrels a year. Currently, eight 400-barrel fermentation tanks are being added to the existing brewery. In 2014, Odell Brewing Co. celebrated 25 years as a craft brewery. Week-long festivities included a Silver Lining Soiree, Oktoberfest celebration, and Cellar Series release of 180 Shilling. Odell Brewing also teamed up with Boulevard Brewing Company to release Silver Anniversary Ale, a collaboration commemorating both brewery's 25th anniversaries, just one day apart. In late 2014, Odell Brewing Co. employed 108 co-workers and distributes in 11 states and the UK. In 2013, it was ranked the 34th largest U.S. craft brewing company by the Brewers Association (based on 2013 beer sales volume), and ranked the 44th largest overall U.S. brewing company.

  • Second time here and as usual, it was great. The space, the trees, the laid back scene is what you want from a brewery. I tried 4 of the beers in the small batch fest and tasted 8, loved them all...well the mojito beer was not really my thing but hey A+ for creativity.
  • First, I am by far one of the biggest beer snobs one can meet, and yes I am okay with that. By far this is my favorite brewery in the entire world. Doug Odell has done something that I don't think anyone else can. The beers here are unique, they have a tremendous outside seating patio, the indoor seating is also amazing. The people are friendly, nice, they answer everyone's questions all the time, the pricing is right in line with everyone else. The beers here are always breaking boundaries and coming out with something new and mind blowing, and when you drink their new stuff it's like "WOW! I didn't even know you can do that". If you don't love Odell Brewing yet, you will once you learn to appreciate and love beer as much as I do. Since some people might be wondering, my next 2 favorite breweries are in California.
  • By far one of the nicest breweries I have ever been too. The beer is great with a good variety to taste. I love the inside seating area and the outside patio. Definitely recommend this place to anyway in the area, whether its passing through or not.
  • Love this brewery. Kinda weird hours for being open. But I guess they just love their peeps.
  • Great beers. The best outdoor area of all of Fort Collins. They also have a lot of fun events like the small batch revival.
