  • Although it was closed, I read the plaque outside and was able to make out the the inside from the window. I will be back.
  • I have lived in N.Cal my entire life and in and around Sacramento for 46 years. I thought the museum was great and I learned many new things about the history of Folsom.
  • Lovely little piece of history, right in Old Town Folsom. Items of interest include old-timey farming equipment, such as a single stalk corn husker, a butter churn, pre-Victorian clothing, original quilts, a gold weighing scale, a smaller scale replica of a general store, and a couple of penny-farthing bicycles. Well worth a visit.
  • Thanks goodness for the generosity of volunteers and docents that keep this place running! I've been here a number of times for gold panning and recently came here to check out the blacksmith. The hours of certain attractions oftentimes depend on the availability of the docents. Small and very hot in the summer, there is a small covered barn area that houses some items and an old train car. A replica cabin is onsite as well as older farming implements. Great spot to show out of towners. Having been born and raised in Sackatomato town, you kind of take for granted the rich history of this place. Being in the History Museum makes you realize the challenges folks experienced heading out West. If the blacksmith is operating, for $5 you can get a personalized horseshoe and $1 gets you a custom-made miner's diamond ring. However, entrance to this historical block of land is free.
  • Very nice people work there. They even gave our 2 year old gloves to see the quilt room. Cool museum, I love local history
