  • We stopped here on our way from Atlanta to St. Mary's/Cumberland Island and I am really glad we did. Everyone should experience a swamp once in their life. Plenty of alligators to see. Do the boat tou...  read more »
  • The Okefenokee Swamp is absolutely worth seeing. It is recommended over the gate in folk tone pure zufahren (well described on the homepage of the Okefenokee). There are no fences in the Okefenokee, it could happen to encounter an Aligator, snake, brown bear etc ;) in Okefenokee already in the parking lot so basically More likely there are but the animals in the swamp, therefore we highly recommend the boat trip. We have chosen the 90 minute, but was a day of the week and nothing off, went 2 hours. The 90 minute enough to see the interesting things. Alligators, turtles and a variety of birds is you get to see on the boat trip in any case (we have also seen a raccoon) and learn a lot of interesting stuff about Okefenokee (we were lucky, our guide was very helpful and has in short, simple sentences, and spoken very clearly, he was very good to understand and had great expertise). The price is very good, for American conditions (compared with theme parks) almost a bargain for what is available. Don't forget bug spray and sunscreen! (or then buy in the shop at the Okefenokee) We had seen very good luck and no single mosquito now in September, I have tell me, however, that it can be quite different!

  • This is one of my favorite parks! I had a great time walking the trails at the south entrance. I saw so much wildlife, it was well worth the drive from Atlanta.
  • I brought my sons to visit recently. It was great, except for the yellow jackets. The train ride is super slow, but that's to allow you the chance to take in the surroundings. Worth a visit if you've got the time.
  • My husband and I went to the park on new years eve 2015, WOW what a park loved it. We love seeing alligators. We met and talked to some of the workers at the park and they were very nice. they informed us of things to see and do in the park. BOY WERE THEY RIGHT ! so much to see and do. we went on the boat ride through the swamp. Gator city WOW so many gators we loved it. And Joe our tour guide what a hoot. he was Great we just kicked backed and enjoyed the tour and Joe's story's of the swamp. we stayed the whole day and had a great time so much to see and do. we will do it again. Thanks so much for having such a great park.
