  • We were in Mary Esther-FL and decided to dive into some next spring. We rent cylinders, weights and wetsuits in a diving operator in Destin-FL and drove up Morrison Springs. Signalling to access the Park could be better. We visited on a Tuesday, so that the Park, which has free access, was not full. The Park has great structure, parking, restrooms, pier and beach, as well as tables and places to equip, assemble and wash the diving equipment, all for free. Felt safe on site. The diving is very good, the water temperature was around 20 degrees C, and a 5 mm was sufficient. The water visibility is great, and access, whether on the beach (sand) or by the pier is very good. There is no on-site dive operator, nor the cafeteria or restaurant. We take all our equipment in the car, and also a snack for later. Diving and quiet location. Great Park for the day, but, for free access, more crowded days, holidays and weekends, must be very crowded, because the area of the Park is not so great.

  • Well darn! We drove all the way here and we couldn't swim, and wouldn't want to. Health advisory and gross looking. We came back to ponce de Leon, it is beautiful. Next time we will try again maybe it...  more »
  • The dive shop at Vortex Springs recommended we try this spring. It is free to dive here and just a few miles down the road. You can drive up and unload your gear fairly close to the water. Like Vortex...  more »

  • The water is crystal clear and from what the drivers told me it's about 20 feet deep. Now the drivers also said that there was a cavern under there that want another 20 ft. But it was very relaxing to sit with my feet in the ice cold water and forget about the worries of the world. It's a great little escape. There's a floating dock & entry is free but I didn't see any rope swings or slides like at the other state springs parks.
  • It's crystal clear and huge. Very refreshing and enjoyable to swim in. However there are some days where the river backs up into the spring, making it murky and brown. So it's amazing only if you catch it on the right day.
  • BEAUTIFUL SCUBA DIVING I DID SOLO TO 75 ft VISIBILITY IS SO AWESOME BREATH TAKING I LOVE IT DEFINITELY COMING BACK, THEY HAVE SHOWERS AND GOOD BATHROOMS
  • Normally this place is gorgeous, like something out of a movie. Just stopped by and the river is backed up badly into the spring and entire basin. Water is black and murky. You can see oil/gasoline slicks everywhere. I've never seen it this bad. Not sure how long it takes to clear out, but the park wasn't even open and it was after 9am on Saturday.
  • Everybody has to at least go by and visit! awesome place especially on really hot summer days!
