  • Great place to camp! The kids loved the lake. We stayed in a cabin that exceeded our expectations. It had everything but running water! I was expecting an empty room with cots. Not only were there beds and furniture, there was a fridge and microwave, and a/c unit! We were on a trip, so could only stay one night, but we plan to go back when we can stay for at least a long weekend.
  • The staff is very friendly and they have excellent recreational programs available. The activities at the museum go beyond visual displays and engage visitors for a more profound experience.
  • Right there where one feels a bit lost, a fashionable building stands out. You might feel frustrated, more so after a long drive. For sure you were looking for the old little house where Clemens was born. To find such a high end building is unexpected, to say the least. But don't give up. Just peak into this modern building and prepare yourself to be surprised. Oh.. bring a snack if traveling on a Sunday. No open restaurants nearby on Sundays, not even a gas station.
  • We stopped today and enjoyed the museum. We also took a short hike. The museum staff were friendly and helpful.
  • Great mini-vacation 2 hrs from home. Campground is well run, attended to and clean (bathrooms and grounds). Stayed at a Family Puma campground site with 2 other families, all staff is family-oriented and friendly. Kayaking, a wonderful first-time experience, offered FREE two weekends per month in summer on Tom Sawyer Lake. Naturalist outings planned at amphitheater weekly. Nice (and air conditioned) M.Twain museum on grounds to visit; HUGE sandy beach, plenty of places to fish and picnic! Few cons: no soap in bathrooms all weekend, one electric outlet dysfunctional even after electrician came out, and the campsite seemed small for being advertised as "family" for 12 people. Even with these details, no major complaints! We will be back!
