Heceta Head Lighthouse, Florence

(800+ reviews on the web)
Lighthouse Tourist Spot
Projecting the strongest light on the Oregon coast, Heceta Head Lighthouse is part of a state park. Perched on a small peninsula with boulders that act as natural wave breakers, the lighthouse is a beacon for many seafarers. From the building's deck, you can see land that is thick with fir trees, making a striking contrast with the deep blue water. Tours begin on the first floor of the keeper's quarters and end on the deck of the lighthouse. Tours are free, donations are welcome, and parking requires a per-vehicle fee. Consider taking an extra day to tour the area so you can stay a night at the inn inside the keeper's quarters. • Unfortunately, it was under renovation so we couldn’t go up the steps, but they said it was almost done. The walk was easy and it was a very nice light house. Also, we had a chance to talk to the lady...  more »

  • A beautiful must-see on the Oregon Coast! The view from the lighthouse and charming lighthouse keepers home is second to none.
  • Very pretty and easy to get do. Great for sunsets.
  • Cool lighthouse with a decent hike to the base. Great views from around the base.
  • The most photographed lighthouse in Oregon. For a special treat hike up to it at night.
  • I have visited a lot of lighthouses up and down the east, west and Great Lakes coastlines and this is one of my faves!!! Crashing surf, handsome lighthouse, sea stacks, sea caves, historic bridge, waterfall, tide pools, haunted house...What more could you ask for?
