  • The ability to get very close to these ruins was memorable. The ranger on duty that day was wonderful with my granddaughter as she became a junior ranger.
  • I love going to Wupatki, I stop here every time I visit Flagstaff. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. There is a great interpretive center and walkway around the ruins. The area is well taken care of and you can tell that the laws are strictly enforced with the good shape of the ruins.
  • Quick side trip from Grand Canyon to Flagstaff. The ruins are ok. Can see it all in 20 minutes. About 3/4 way through loop drive there are cinder cone hills. We hiked one to see the crater and grassland forest at the top. Really worth the hike but it is steep and the only way I made it with the altitude issues was going with an experienced hiker who kept my mind off breathing. Unless you are accustomed to hiking at this altitude I'd recommend the buddy system.
  • Very interesting place. The desert landscape is vast and beautiful. The ruins are fascinating, blending a chaco style with elements from the south, such as ball courts. Be sure to check out the blow hole.
  • The very first ruin for me so everything was new and exciting to view how the ancient peoples lived. Fascinating to walk among the ruins. Tried to imagine a young boy living here.
