See Native American ruins in a desert setting at Flagstaff Area National Monuments. Three buildings and nearly 30 structures can be located throughout a 14,266 hectare (35,253 acre) area. First populated around 500 CE by Anasazi, Cohonina, and Sinagua tribes, the area was inhabited until 1225. Start your tour at the visitor center, where you'll find exhibits and historical facts and see schedules of interpretive programs. From there, begin the self-guided tour of the pueblo, or ask about the organized hikes and ranger talks taking place at the time of your visit.   • Not too far from Flagstaff, this is a unique treasure to visit at least once (especially if you are already visiting Sunset crater). Grab a map from the visitor center so you can read about each room ...  more »
  • At $10 and combined with the Sunset Crater, this is an amazing family outing bargain. The pueblos were so much fun to explore. Our favorite was the Wukoki.  more »
