  • Visited the site last week in February 2015 The site is 15 miles from I-75-directions to the site were well marked-there is a memorial and 3 historical markers, along with a monument. The markers describe the events of May 1865 when Jefferson Davis fled to Georgia in an attempt to link up with five major generals of the remaining Trans-Mississippi forces of the CSA. The site was at the capture point in May 1865. Following this, Jefferson Davis was returned to Washington, stripped of his citizenship and imprisoned for two years. It is a well kept site and would be a good addition to any trip down/up I-75
