The Alexander Noble House, built in 1868, is a historic Greek Revival farmhouse located in Fish Creek, Door County, Wisconsin on Wisconsin Highway 42. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on February 23, 1996.
Alexander Noble, one of the founders of Fish Creek, was born in Edinburgh, Scotland in 1829 and moved to Fish Creek in 1863. He served the community as blacksmith, postmaster, town chairman, and county board member.
Today, the restored Noble House contains many of its original furnishings and artifacts. The home's authentic room settings depict the period from 1875 to 1900. The house offers tours that portray life in Door County over a century ago, depicting the village as a thriving fishing and shipping village with horse-drawn wagons traveling the dirt streets.
The house is run as a nonprofit institution operated by the Gibraltar Historical Association, Box 323, Fish Creek, WI 54212.

  • Very well maintained house beautifully decorated and preserved. Seldom have we visited historic homes that have stayed in the same family. The guide for our tour provided not only the house and families history but also included historical content for the period. Nice experience.
  • I'm a docent at the Noble House. I get to dress in costume and lead tours. We have a 3-year cycle of displays. This year, 2022, we are doing A House In Mourning: Victorian Funerals. Next year, we'll be doing Victorian Weddings, and the year after that, A Glimpse of Old Fish Creek. Those are the day tours. At night, there is a trolley in Fish Creek that stops at the Noble House on a ghost tour 7 days a week. The day tours go from Tuesday through Sunday from 10:00-3:00, and each tour lasts from 20-30 minutes. The entrance fee is $5/person and is used to help maintain the house. I give a rollicking good tour if I do say so myself!
  • Fascinating story of Mr Noble, family and house. We visited during the exhibit of Victorian mourning. Our tour guide was gracious and knowledgeable. Definitely worth a visit while in Fish Creek!
  • This historic house has been preserved very well and has rotating exhibits every year. Denise, one of the docents, gave an amazing museum tour. Thorough, interesting and very enjoyable to listen to. Whether you are visiting Door County or live here, I highly recommend checking out this tour.
  • Beautifully restored and refurbished. Furnished to reflect the earlier days.
