  • Wonderful experience. Got to ride the train. $25 worth the trip
  • Wonderful! The crew is very friendly. Everyone from the train crew to the gift store was in uniform and smiling. Like they tore a page from Disney's playbook. The grounds are EXTREMELY clean and well kept. The restrooms are incredibly clean even during the busy summer season. Fun ride and beautiful wildflowers. Gold panning was well worth the $10 and Carol sparked my son and I to pursue it as a hobby. We got colors in the pan! Please take the time to stop and enjoy this wonderful family operation.
  • This attraction is often overshadowed by neighboring Yosemite but I highly recommend taking the train ride into the forest. Not only is it scenic, but it also offers a rare first hand experience of what life was like nearly 150 years ago for California transplants. This place did suffer through a terrible forest fire two years ago. I do not have current information on how the business responded to what was damaged
  • The friendly and informative staff made for a very fun and educational trip. Stepping back into time and getting a feel for what it was like so long ago was a great experience. The kids (and adults) really enjoyed panning for gold, too. Highly recommend.
  • Our family took a ride on the train and then the kids panned for gold. It was beautiful up there. Lots of fun.
