  • I like Jones Beach and the Hamptons are great but far away. Just about the best though is Robert Moses on the tip of fire island (the part you can drive too). . Not as developed or crowded as Jones Be...  read more »

  • My husband and I had a wonderful day at Field 2 yesterday. There was plenty of parking just a close walk away from the entrance. The sand was clean, the waves a bit rough even for advanced swimmers. T...  read more »
  • We stopped going to Jones and started going to Robert Moses about 5 or 6 years ago and it's worth the extra ride. We usually visit Field 5, there's never a parking problem and typically we can park in a good position to trek out to the beach. The beach area is large and angled correctly for some good waves when conditions are right. Lifeguards are on top of things and there is a first aid station if needed. Showers are available and a changing area tho certainly not luxurious, just enough to get cleaned up for the ride home. Snack bar prices hit me pretty hard this summer, 8 dollars for a burger that doesn't even include fries is rough...throw a sandwich in your beer cooler and you'll be set.
  • Clean beach. Smooth sand. Waves are very rough so be careful. Great for surfers and boogie boards. Tends to get crowded on weekends and holidays. Has nice water views.
  • I love it sooooooooooooooooo much but after 5:00 or 3:00 or 4:00 or its free I come there a 1:00 I waited it soo much I ate some KFC and Dr.pepper/water
  • Beautiful beach, umbrella rentals and a light tower! Can't go wrong. 5 parking fields to choose from and parking is $10 which is affordable. Life guards are present during regular hours. No pets allowed year round but some visitors seem to not care to follow rules.
  • Great & Clean Beach! Water color is really amazing here. A walk to the lighthouse is enjoyable. Cafeteria is not that great but has good options like fish N chips, burgers, smoothies, fries, ice cream, etc.
