  • Not just your normal state park. On the weekends in the summer they have live actor's that explain the Historical buildings in the park free. Baked goods and a gift store and fishing for the kids. The...  more »

  • We love coming here. The transportation historical museum is really a small gift shop but the train ride is such fun for our toddler and the tickets they print are sharp. The park is beautifully maintained and it's not uncommon to see a bridal party or family having their pictures taken. Lots of walking and although we haven't taken full advantage of the historical aspect yet, the few shops we've seen have been very interesting and informative. Bring lunch, you can picnic in the park. Great day trip for a family, especially with young kids.
  • Came here for camping in the cabins. Great cabins for a great price. Exactly what I was looking for. Nothing fancy, basic logged cabin, with beds and a decent sized to stay in. Great location too. Staff were super friendly. Definitely coming back here with my gang.
  • Allaire - More than the village While the village is great, there is so much more to the park. Try the miles of trails for hiking, birding,, dog walking and even horseback riding. The fall foliage is amazing!
  • This is one of my favorite places to go for a bike ride! The terrain is flat, but it gives you some beautiful scenery to look at.
  • Pretty amazing "frozen in time" town from the colonial era... in the middle of nowhere-ville New Jersey. Serves also as a "Central Park" of sorts for the local Hasidic & Orthodox Jewish population in nearby Lakewood area (many patrons are dressed accordingly). Really worth a visit, during operational hours, over a nice weather weekend. If you have small children, then you MUST do the full scale steam train...
