  • If you are not already a history buff, you will not know what you are looking at. No guided tour, but they did ask if we had questions. Cost is not free, so be expected to pay all little.

  • STUNNING!!!! There is no other museum in VA that could hold a candle to White Oak. Go visit the battlefields, go read the markers, go buy a coffee mug and when you get tired of looking at reproduction artifacts and you want to really discuss the real facts and actual history oh and you want to see real and unbelievably rare artifacts.....WHITE OAK CIVIL WAR MUSEUM IS THE ONLY STOP YOU NEED TO MAKE!!! Staffed by true historians both in knowledge and unbiased. I can't begin to find the words to describe the artifacts it's absolutely the most amazing collection of Civil War relics housed in 1 location in the country. Run, don't walk to the museum
  • This is one of the finest collections of Civil War artifacts I have ever seen. Also, the owner took a great deal of time to show me around, as well as discuss the enormous amount of research he has done over the years to save camp locations from being swallowed up by new housing developments. He has been called upon in the past to assist archeologists when new locations are found. He's quite impressive. It may not look like much from the outside, but don't be fooled. If you have any interest in the Civil War, you must stop in! Amazing!
  • One of the best Civil War museums I've been to, and I've been to many of them. The exhibits are wonderful, most of them behind glass in such a way that you can get close and see details that you'd miss in the displays of other museums. The folks who run the place are also extremely knowledgable and helpful.
  • Absolutely one of the best museums I've been too. Highly recommended for anyone who loves the Era.
  • Mr. Newton knows everything that there is to know about the Civil War in that area.
