Lake Mohegan Recreation Area, Fairfield

This is a nice place for a cool morning hike. Be sure to wear your best sneakers for walking. There are steep hills and terrains. The passing water flow is a nice touch. Bring your bug spray and water bottles.

This is a beautiful place I go to and sit in my car in the sun as a quiet escape with the perfect view of the lake and the occasional adorable dog on the way to the dog walk. However it is too expensive to bring my two grandchildren and their parent enter the lake for a two hour visit during the summer months even tho a senior admission is free.

Great place for river fishing, top casting, fly, trout and bass. Gets stocked seasonally Good trails for dogs as well. Bad side it fill up fast on the weekends fast and not much consideration from other visitors.

A secret place Fairfield knows about that is magical for serenity and clear thinking. A network of trails that are barely trails but clearly meander around this gurgling brook and this bass and trout hideaway. The clarity of the water and the freshness of the trees and fauna invite a level of mesmerizing stress removal. Lake Mohegan is about the Mohegan Indians and it is each of our responsibility to never forget the value of natural beauty.

This was my first experience on a trial. It was fun and energizing!
