  • We had an in depth experience in Morris Thompson Cultural and Visitor Center. We were able to understand and value the works of art of the Alaskan natives. It felt like going inside a time machine and brought us back to a time of raw cultural practices which made people resilient in a challenging environment. Cindy and the rest of the staff were so informative and friendly.
  • Def a great stop to learn about everything going on in Fairbanks. Lots to see inside. Plus a movie about Fairbanks plays ever 30 mins. Nice restrooms and common area to just warm up if it’s freezing outside. The staff is amazing. SHERRI in there knows her stuff. She helped us a lot to learn about the lights and checking the stats on them. She’s super knowledgeable of the area. Ask for her if you go, super friendly.
  • Wonderful place to visit and learn about Alaskan history and the native culture. The exhibits are filled with both native handcrafts and stories of hows life in the back country were before many of the things we in modern times take for granted. Free to all
  • Great stop to learn what is available in Fairbanks and to see exhibits about life in Interior Alaska. Athabaskan hand made arts & crafts are available in the cultural room but they're a little hard to find. Ask for Dixie Alexander and they'll know where to send you. The Alaska Geographic store isn't open much in the winter but it's also a great shop.
  • Very helpful staff. They have Northern Lights radar to assess you chances of seeing the aurora and when is the best time. Lots of brochures and magazines. Fun ice sculpture out front and a nice park across the street.
